Educators Credit Union started in March 1937 in Racine, Wisconsin, as the Racine Teachers Credit Union.

The teachers formed a financial cooperative- a Credit Union; as there was no place for them to save or borrow money at that time. Erwin Wall, the first president started collecting deposits for some of the first members of the Credit Union at his home.

At the beginning the growth was slow but steady then in 1970s, there was a major growth rush and the credit union opened a number of branch locations.

It was then the credit union changed its name to Educators Credit Union. 

Each petal of the flower in the logo represents one of the values of the credit union: Honesty, Integrity, Fairness, Respect, and Excellence. The stem is an “E”, which means Educators Credit Union.

As of 2020, the Educators Credit Union members earned a record of over $4.27 million.

  • Immediate family member or household member of qualified member
